About La Jerga

La Jerga is a free, bilingual (Spanish and English), monthly, alternative culture newspaper established in San Miguel de Allende in April of 2003. The print version is currently distributed freely throughout the central Mexican cities of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Querétaro and León, with total distribution of 15,000 copies. Apart from articles, investigations, interviews, columns, film and book reviews, humor and parody sections, we offer an ample music section dedicated to covering live musical performances and reviews of national and international record releases.

La Jerga is the voice of the alternative culture and is an independent current which strives to inform, and above all entertain, our readers with our unique perspective and our non-conventional gonzo journalism.

Our audience is comprised of the following demographics:

Since La Jerga is a freely distributed newspaper, for every issue read, 2.5 more people read that same issue. Therefore, of the 15,000 copies printed, you can estimate that more than 50,000 people are reading the print version of La Jerga each month. The distribution focuses on the most important cultural centers in the region, universities, newspaper and magazine stands, bookstores and libraries, as well as the best cafés, internet cafés, bars and restaurants.
